Filming Schedule

29th October 2017:

2pm-5pm:
Those who attended:
Sunny- Camera Man, Alex- Actor and helped with camera shot ideas, Simran- focused on diegetic sound to use and helped with camera shot ideas, Aaron- Jack (actor) and Amar- Umar (main character).
Film scene 1- Done in an alley way on Sandwell Road as many sixth form students walk through alleyways increasing the realism of the setting.
Film scene 2- Recorded on Somerset Road which is seen as an everyday road, even to some extent a road for those from disadvantaged backgrounds, thus implying the ethnic minority is the most deprived in the friendship group.

Why we decided to film 2pm-5pm: This was done to highlight the change between times of when Umar left his friends to when he got home.

7pm:
Those who attended:
Sunny- Camera Man, Alex- Actor and helped with camera shot ideas, Aaron- Jack (actor) and Amar- Umar (main character).
Film scene 3 and 6- These will be filmed in front of one of the characters house. We believed as a group it would be best to record all the outside scenes on the first day, and then record the inside scenes another time, as it saves time and prevents all the group members coming out so late.

Why we decided to film at 7pm: This was done to demonstrate the transition of time as the friends came back at a later time to visit Umar before they left to go to the party. The sky will be a different demonstrating that the party is late and time has definitely gone past in contrast to the first two previous scenes.

11th November 2017:

8pm:

Those who will attend:
Sunny- Camera Man, Alex- Actor and helped with camera shot ideas, Simran- focused on non- diegetic sound to use and helped with camera shot ideas, Aaron- Jack (actor) and Amar- Umar (main character). Simran, Sunny and Alex will all take turns with recording on the camera.
Film Scene 4 & 5- These will be filmed inside the house of a character in the film. This is important as it brings in representation as it will be filmed in the bedroom which will be messy portraying what teenagers are like.

Why we decided to film at 8pm: It’s not perceived as too late, but we want the sky to be darker than what it was when the friends came, as it may be visible through the windows. If it’s done any later it will be visible through the windows and come across as unprofessional and confusing for the audience, as the time frame will not be clear.

9pm:
Those who will attend:
Sunny- Camera Man, Alex- Actor and helped with camera shot ideas, Simran- focused on non- diegetic sound to use and helped with camera shot ideas, Aaron- Jack (actor) and Amar- Umar (main character). Simran, Sunny and Alex will all take turns with recording on the camera.
Film scene 7- This will be recorded in most of the house, where the main character will end up back in his bedroom again. This will be done to add the effect of realism, as if you’ve lost something you’re likely to check downstairs before returning back into the room straight away- if this was to be done, it will come across as too staged.
Film scene 8- This will be done in the hallway of the house leading towards the stairs. This implies that it takes time for Umar to understand something has happened and there’s someone/something in the same atmosphere/presence he’s in.
Film scene 9- The main character will be dragged into the living room. The advantage of this is that in the previous scene the character has already fallen down the stairs, therefore making it easier to the antagonist to pull away the victim.

Why we decided to film at 9pm: The time scale will give us enough time to ensure everything is done, as well as this, if there are any windows in the shot it will match the time frame of the timing in the movie allowing it to make sense to the audience.
